Conservation group looks to the Senate to bring home desired clean energy opportunities despite lack of support from Congressman Rosendale
(BOZEMAN, Mont.) –– Montana Conservation Voters released the following statement from Executive Director Whitney Tawney in response to the passage of the Build Back Better Act in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Today’s passage of the Build Back Better Act out of the House is a huge step forward on the path to a brighter future for all Montanans. This legislation will create thousands of good-paying, clean energy jobs for folks right here in Montana, while also providing big savings to Montanans’ pocketbooks. Unfortunately, Montana’s lone Congressman Matt Rosendale couldn’t put his politics aside and support this great economic opportunity for the Big Sky State, which makes us even more grateful to have a champion in the Senate.”
The Build Back Better Act, which is the U.S.’s largest investment in combatting the effects of climate change to date, now moves to the Senate for consideration where it is expected to be taken up in December. To encourage Senator Jon Tester to continue his work to make this legislation a win for Montana, today MCV will deliver a letter from hundreds of Montanans encouraging his continued leadership as well as a letter from nearly 40 Montana businesses supporting his efforts to protect the Montana way of life through enacting the Build Back Better Act.
