MCV Applauds LCV’s Endorsement of Tranel; Calls Out Zinke’s Anti-Conservation Record

 The LCV Action Fund announced their endorsement of Monica Tranel for Montana’s First Congressional District 

(HELENA, Mont.) – Today Montana Conservation Voters released the following statement from Executive Director Whitney Tawney in response to the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund’s endorsement of Monica Tranel for Montana’s First Congressional District:

“Monica is exactly who we need to represent the Western District in Congress. We applaud the LCV Action Fund for recognizing her commitment to protect Montana’s outdoor way of life and fight for climate action. Unfortunately, her opponent, Ryan Zinke represents all that Monica isn’t, including his atrocious public lands record and his lead role in the largest reduction of public land protections in U.S. history as Interior Secretary. LCV sees what most of Western Montana has seen for some time, Zinke is out of step with Montanans and Tranel is the obvious choice.” 

The LCV Action Fund announced their endorsement of Tranel’s campaign on July 5 and chose their endorsements based on candidates who will address the climate crisis and advance a more equitable clean energy future. You can find their full list of endorsements for 2022 here.
