MCV Endorses More Conservation Champions For Local Offices

MCV Action Fund backs candidates for the PSC, County Commission and State Legislature

(BOZEMAN, Mont.)  – The Montana Conservation Voters Action Fund, MCV’s affiliated Political Action Committee, today proudly announced its endorsements of fifteen conservation champions running for positions up and down the ballot.

“Turning Montana values into priorities is at the heart of what we do,” said MCV Deputy Director Whitney Tawney. “We’re excited about our endorsements because we need conservation champions at all levels of government to protect our shared outdoor heritage for future generations.”

The MCV Action Fund endorsed the following candidates:

Public Service Commission

  • Valerie McMurty – Public Service Commission District 2

County Commission

  • Zach Brown – Gallatin County Commission
  • Juanita Vero – Missoula County Commission

State Legislature

  • Rep. Debo Powers – Columbia Falls – HD 03
  • Melissa Smith – Great Falls – HD 20
  • Jasmine Taylor – Great Falls – HD 22
  • Rep. Laurie Bishop – Livingston – HD 60
  • Brian Popiel – Four Corners – HD 64
  • Tom France – Missoula – HD 94
  • Loni Conley – Missoula – HD 96
  • LouAnn Hansen – Missoula – HD 97
  • Senator Jen Gross – Billings – SD 25
  • Margaret Gorski – Hamilton – SD 44
  • Shannon O’Brien – Missoula – SD 46
  • Chase Gay – Lake County – SD 47

Montana Conservation Voters has also endorsed both I-190 and CI-118, a pair of ballot measures to help fund state public lands through the taxation of limited amounts of recreational marijuana for adults 21 and over. In Missoula, MCV has endorsed the Mountain Line Mill Levy.
