MCV: ‘We are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend, Mayor John Engen’ 

The conservation group reacts to the passing of the Missoula Mayor after a battle with pancreatic cancer

(HELENA, Mont.) – Today Montana Conservation Voters released the following statement from Executive Director Whitney Tawney in response to the passing of Missoula Mayor and conservation champion John Engen:  

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend, Mayor John Engen. He was a true conservation champion in every sense and his leadership in Missoula will be remembered for generations. MCV was proud to endorse Mayor Engen several times throughout his career in public service. He represented the kind of forward-thinking, action-oriented leader every community deserves; Missoula and Montana lost a great one today.”
