TesterGettingItDone.org to encourage further climate and conservation investments
(BOZEMAN, Mont.) – On the heels of the U.S. Senate passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the $3.5 trillion budget resolution to address climate change, Montana Conservation Voters today launched a new multi-pronged campaign to further secure climate and conservation investments.
The campaign, titled “Tester Getting It Done,” is designed to activate Montanans to weigh in with U.S. Senator Jon Tester to ensure he continues to lead on climate, clean energy jobs and place-based conservation. The campaign includes a microsite, yardsigns, billboards, selfie shot video testimonials, digital ads and a petition.
Executive Director Whitney Tawney released the following statement:
“There is so much good on the horizon at the Federal level for Montana. It’s imperative that the Budget Resolution and Senator Tester’s bipartisan infrastructure bill move on a dual track to deliver on climate solutions and jobs. Senator Tester’s leadership in the Senate has protected Montana’s public lands and our outdoor way of life, and we look forward to continuing to work with him to protect Montana as the Last Best Place for future generations.”
Additionally today, MCV released a new poll with the polling firm Data for Progress of likely voters in Montana, finding that Montana voters support President Joe Biden’s proposed Clean Electricity Standard, along with other key climate and clean energy provisions.
Montana voters also support other clean energy investments:
54% of voters support investments to create new good-paying, union jobs to manufacture the technologies of the future, like wind turbines, solar panels, and electric vehicles.
53% of voters support funding to give consumers rebates and other incentives to purchase items such as electric vehicles, solar panels, and home appliances that are more efficient and create less pollution.
50% of voters believe the government should make investments to create millions of new good-paying clean energy jobs across the country.
The campaign’s website and polling is now online at TesterGettingItDone.org.
