Team MCV Increases Capacity with Two New Hires

Jocelyn Leroux and Anthony Licata will help execute the organization’s mission through public policy work and communications.

(BOZEMAN, Mont) – Today, Montana Conservation Voters announced the new hires of Jocelyn Leroux as Program Director and Anthony Licata as Communications Director.

Jocelyn has spent her career working on public lands and wildlife protections. She spent several years with The Mountain Pact working with local elected officials throughout the west to ensure they get a voice in federal public lands and climate change conversations. Most recently, Jocelyn led the wildlife and public lands protections programs for Washington and Montana for Western Watersheds Project.

As the Program Director, Jocelyn will be MCV’s lead public policy advocate and support the Executive Director in designing and implementing strategic plans, annual organizational work plans and budgets to support MCV’s mission.

Over a 20-year career in outdoor media, Anthony served as the long-time Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Director of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines. With a focus on outdoor recreation and nature, conservation storytelling has always been a big part of his writing and work.

Anthony will be in charge of the organization’s communications, bringing MVC’s voice and message to both members and new audiences.

“We’re thrilled to grow the MCV team by adding Jocelyn and Anthony,” said Whitney Tawney, the Executive Director of Montana Conservation Voters. “Both have the experience, contacts and vision to help lead the organization forward. And both have a deep love for Montana and its wild places.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining Team MCV at such a critical juncture for our state,” said Jocelyn. “Conservation, public lands, clean air and clean water are things that unite all Montanans. I’m excited to apply my experience to hold elected officials accountable to ensuring this remains true.”

“What I’m most proud of in my career is that I’ve been able to deliver to a lot of folks  conservation articles and stories, trying to tackle the tough and important issues,” said Anthony. “The opportunity to join the MCV and do important work by getting the word out to help preserve and protect Montana, the place I love and have chosen to raise my family, is a dream come true.”

Jocelyn will be based in Helena for the session and permanently in Missoula. When not working, Jocelyn can be found on a trail, river or skin track with her adventure pup, Pacho. You can reach Joceyln at jocelyn@mtvoters.org.

Anthony and his family live in Bozeman, where he spends as much time outside as possible, often with his two kids, hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, and otherwise exploring Montana. Contact Anthony at anthony@mtvoters.org.
