MCV Announces First Round of Municipal Endorsements

MCV Action Fund backs 11 candidates for municipal races 

(HELENA, Mont.)–The Montana Conservation Voters Action Fund, MCV’s affiliated Political Action Committee, announced its first round of endorsements for pro-conservation municipal candidates running across the state in 2023. 

“Protecting Montana’s clean air, clean water, public lands, and democracy starts at the local level,” said MCV Action Fund Chair Jill Lombardi. “We feel confident that these candidates will fight for conservation while they work for the betterment of their communities.”

The MCV’s independent PAC board endorsed the following candidates:

  • Kendra Shaw for Billings City Council, Ward 1 (Incumbent)
  • Jennifer Madgic for Bozeman City Council (Incumbent)
  • Casey Schreiner for Great Falls Mayor
  • Ryan Hunter for Kalispell City Council, Ward 3 (Incumbent)
  • Melissa Nootz for Livingston City Commission (Incumbent)
  • Eric Melson for Missoula City Council, Ward 1
  • Mirtha Becerra for Missoula City Council, Ward 2 (Incumbent)
  • Sierra Farmer for Missoula City Council, Ward 2 (Incumbent)
  • Amber Sherrill for Missoula City Council, Ward 4 (Incumbent)
  • Sean McCoy for Missoula City Council, Ward 6
  • Nathan Dugan for Whitefish City Council
  • Rebecca Norton for Whitefish City Council (Incumbent)

Today’s announcement is the first in a series of endorsement announcements from the MCV Action Fund. More endorsements will be rolled out after the municipal primary September 12 ahead of the November 7 general election.
