MCV: Bullock’s Bipartisan Climate Solutions Plan Important for Countless Jobs

(BILLINGS, Mont.) —  Montana Conservation Voters today released the following statement from Executive Director Aaron Murphy in response to the release of Governor Steve Bullock’s bipartisan Climate Solutions Plan:

“We appreciate Governor Bullock understanding that the health of our climate doesn’t give a lick about partisan politics, which is why his bipartisan Climate Solutions Council is such an important effort to protect the future of Montana and its communities. Montana Conservation Voters looks forward to working with the Council to implement this important plan for cleaner air, cleaner water, strong agriculture, healthy and accessible public lands, and the countless jobs that rely on all of it.”

Bullock’s Climate Solutions Plan is the result of months of meetings among nearly 40 members of the bipartisan Climate Solutions Council, which includes scientists, activists, businesspeople and energy industry representatives from across Montana. Their goal: to  execute Bullock’s 2019 Executive Order on climate change which, with MCV’s input, acknowledges a carbon free future for Montana. The Council’s draft recommendations aim to reduce carbon emissions in Montana, prepare for climate impacts and address the challenges and opportunities that come with Montana’s transition to a clean energy future.
