(BELGRADE, Mont.)  – More than 65 people gathered this week for Montana Conservation Voters’ Gallatin-Park County Picnic Potluck to honor legislative champions from the 2019 session of Montana State Legislature.

State Senator Pat Flowers (D-Belgrade) and State Representatives Laurie Bishop (D-Livingston), Zach Brown (D-Bozeman) and Chris Pope (D-Bozeman) joined partners in conservation and MCV members for the July 23 event.

“We’re pleased to have had such a strong group of conservation champions for the 2019 legislative session,” said Aaron Murphy, Executive Director for MCV. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead to keep protecting Montana’s clean air, clean water and public lands and these legislators are key to our shared success. We also have a lot of work ahead to make sure all Montanans know about the shortcomings of the elected leaders who failed our climate, our environment and our kids.”

All celebrated legislative champions received 100% scores on MCV’s 2019 legislative scorecard. This year MCV scored nine key votes in both the Montana House and Senate ranging from clean energy, climate change, public lands, natural resources, wildlife and voting rights.

The MCV Gallatin-Park County Chapter Potluck Picnic takes place in the Bozeman area every summer.
