HELENA – Nearly 200 people gathered this month for Montana Conservation Voters’ 20th Annual Celebration.

U.S. Senator Jon Tester, Governor Steve Bullock, Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney and state legislators joined partners in conservation from across the state for the March 8 event.

“This year marks two decades of MCV achievements and growth. It is a great opportunity to thank our elected friends, partners and supporters for their continued roles in our mission to defend Montana’s air, land, water and wildlife for future generations,” said Jock Conyngham, new Chair of the MCV board. “We celebrate those champions who fight to protect our outdoor way of life- their work is critical to our success.”

“MCV has made an important difference in Montana,” said Senator Jon Tester. “We have an obligation to be responsible stewards of our state and our public lands and I’ve seen firsthand how MCV’s work helps protect the wild places we all cherish.”

“We’re not only celebrating the 20 years of work MCV has done; we’re also looking forward to an exciting future,” said Aaron Murphy, who will take the helm of MCV as Executive Director May 1 of this year. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead to keep protecting Montana’s clean air, clean water and public lands by making sure Montanans have the right leaders with the right priorities who are making the right decisions.”

The MCV Annual Celebration takes place in our state’s capital every spring.
