Montana Conservation Voters has a record of supporting pro-conservation candidates for more than 25 years. We have elected conservation leaders to all levels of government — from city councils to Congress, and everything in-between. An MCV endorsement ultimately signals to Montana voters that a candidate is a demonstrated conservation champion who will fight to protect our clean air, clean water, public lands, and democracy.

MCV is proud to begin announcing endorsements for the 2026 election, with more to come.

All endorsement decision are made by MCV’s independent Political Action Committee, the MCV Action Fund, which is committed to supporting candidates who prioritize environmental stewardship. Learn more about these early endorsements below.

Judge Amy Eddy for Montana Supreme Court

Judge Amy Eddy has served on the Eleventh Judicial District Court in Flathead County since 2015 and is widely respected for her thoughtful, steady approach to the law. As a candidate for the Montana Supreme Court, she brings a deep commitment to protecting individual freedoms, upholding the Montana Constitution, and ensuring fairness and justice for all Montanans.

Seth Bodnar for U.S. Senate

Montana Conservation Voters proudly endorses Independent Seth Bodnar for the U.S. Senate to protect our public lands, clean air, and outdoor way of life. As a former Green Beret and President of the University of Montana, Bodnar brings pragmatic, independent leadership and will answer directly to Montanans rather than out-of-state special interests.

“I’m proud to earn the endorsement of Montana Conservation Voters. As Montana’s Independent voice in the U.S. Senate, I will always defend our public lands and our outdoor way of life. Montana’s public lands, clean air, and clean water are a birthright that belongs to all of us. Too often, our broken political system has allowed outside interests and Washington insiders to override the voices of Montanans in decisions about our own communities. As an Independent, I answer only to Montana, and I will always stand behind the science and fight any effort to weaken the protections that keep our communities healthy and our wild places intact.”

Sam Forstag for MT-1 Congressional District

MCV is proud to endorse Sam Forstag for Montana’s First Congressional District. Drawing on eight seasons as a wildland firefighter and a strong record as a union leader, Forstag has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting public lands, clean air and water, and local working families. His hands-on experience on the frontlines makes him a dedicated champion for conservation and community resilience in Washington, D.C.

“I spent years defending Montana’s public lands, clean air, and clean water as a wildland firefighter. Now, I’m running for Congress to bring that fight to Washington, D.C. Montana Conservation Voters has been a leader in this fight for decades, and I’m proud to have their endorsement in this campaign to stand up to corporations that threaten our public lands and pocket books.”
